Workshop Description

In this 2-hour workshop, teachers who are brand new to Project Based Learning are introduced to the key characteristics of a learner-centered classroom that create the conditions for a solid foundation for PBL. Participants take a deep dive into elements such as the goal of learning, the role of the teacher and student, the classroom environment, assessment practices, and curriculum, and how these might differ from traditional or thematic teaching. Then, teachers “bridge to PBL” by exploring a sample PBL unit and connecting those essential learner-centered characteristics to PBL.

*This workshop pairs with our Project Planning workshop for a full-day PD entitled “Introduction to Early Childhood Project Based Learning.” Email us to learn more.
