Early Childhood PBL Residency

Our ECPBL Residency offering is an opportunity for school leaders and teachers to gain an understanding of current classroom PBL practices and create a professional development plan that leverages teachers’ strengths and supports areas of need.

During a residency, one of our facilitators will visit your site to observe classroom teachers and specialists in a non-evaluate manner in order to gain deep insight and understanding for how teachers are currently planning, facilitating, and implementing PBL. In collaboration with the school leadership, the facilitator will develop a professional development plan that meets the needs identified through pre-observation teacher reflections, anecdotal notes, and walkthrough data. This plan will include a workshop personalized for the staff that is developed from conversations with leaders in conjunction with classroom visits. The facilitator will offer suggestions, resources, and feedback regarding next steps for supporting and sustaining project based learning during a debrief with school leaders following the PD session.

This service will be customized for your school site and the length of the residency will be directly related to the size of the staff, number of classrooms, length of time allocated for the PD session, and if individual or team coaching sessions will be utilized.

I felt like I learned some great ideas for expansion of student inquiry as well as components of successful PBL I had not realized I needed to work on.
